I met Kathy and John on Medina St. when I was 18. Kathy soon became the babysitter to my boys and we all became friends with the family. Bob used to say we didn't have neighbors,  we had characters and we really did. From Beulah, to Lil and her brother to Cat Man and many more in between. But we always had fun. Kids under the fire plug, washing down the street, playing cards late into a summer night, or just hanging talking.  We had no fears and were never scared because we knew we all had each other's backs. Thanks for being such a big part of the South Philly memories of my youth.  The best years of Medina St. We didn't have much but we had each other.  God bless you John and all the family. Love you -- Helen
